HARRIET WHEDON

Whedon was an active member of the early modernist scene in the San Francisco Bay Area through the 1920s and 30s. Her colleagues and close friends included artists such as Gottardo Piazzoni, Otis Oldfield, Lee Randolph, Rinaldo Cuneo, Hamilton Wolf, and many more.

As a founding member of the San Francisco Art Center and a respected member of the San Francisco Art Association, her works were also exhibited at: Oakland Art Gallery, Pasadena Art Institute, San Francisco Museum of Art (solo), Foundation of Western Art, L.A., and the Golden Gate International Exposition, 1939.

Whedon is represented in the Santa Barbara Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
