“Rocky Cove” and “Rocky Coast” will be sold as a pair. They were owned by Nora Havel Ritschel who continued to live in Ritschel’s "Castel a Mare", until she passed away in 1975. Their home was perched atop the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, on a site located just below the present-day Carmel Highlands Inn. A friendship grew, and Nora gifted this pair to Mrs. Robert James Ramsey, Sr. owner of the Highlands Inn.
"A painter of any good reputation and talent would be able to render a small format painting to express the same emotions as a large exhibition canvas". William Ritschel
