Trotter Galleries has been collecting the works of both George and Catherine Seideneck since the early 1980s. While shown briefly in our Pacific Grove gallery, this current exhibition in the Carmel gallery, located in the Paseo San Carlos Court on San Carlos near 7th, is our most expansive exhibition to date. They exemplify the extraordinary talents of this amazing couple who made Carmel their permanent home in 1920. Many of the paintings are local views of Point Lobos, Carmel, and Monterey, as well as paintings from European tours.

In 1929 they bought 34 acres in Carmel Valley and built their own home. It was a combination of their decorative skills and crafts and was a showplace of ceramics, wrought silver and copper, and became a bit of the Arts and Crafts Movement in Carmel Valley.
